Raw Meat Diet
We feed our puppies and dogs a raw meat diet made with ground turkey mixed with Dr. Harvey’s Canine Health Pre-Mix Dry Food. We add dry kibble to the raw meat meal around week 7 so you have the option to slowly transition your puppy to the food of your choice. Instructions on how to prepare the meal and serving amount is included in the bag.
We feed our puppies Royal Canin Puppy kibble and recommend this brand. Follow the feeding guidelines on the back of the bag.
Puppies should have 3 meals a day until they are 6 months old.
Your puppy might not feel like eating at all or might develop diarrhea when he gets home and that is normal; going home is a big change and it is natural that the puppy is anxious. If the puppy is not eating, take the food away after 30 minutes and offer it again the next meal time; knowing when the puppy eats helps a lot with potty training. If the puppy has diarrhea, giving him rice or pumpkin might help. In an extreme situation consult your vet.
